The GCC Patent Office Receives more than 200 Patent Applications

General Secretariat - Riyadh

The Patent Office of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCCPO) has received more than 200
patent applications under the new GCC Patent Law, which was approved by the Supreme Council on January 5, 2021.

Inventors (individuals and institutions) can filt their patents applications electronically through the GCCPO efiling system. Meanwhile, the Patent Grievance Committee —comprised of 12 members from GCC member states— continues to receive appeals against GCCPO decisions, and holds regular meetings to review and decide on them.

The GCC Patent Office continues its efforts to promote innovation and protecting inventions by receiving patent applications from inventors from within the GCC region and abroad. This reflects the increasing interest in intellectual property protection and the rising culture of innovation in the region.
