[54] STARTING-VALVE THROTTLE DEVICE FOR DELIVERING A MELT FROM A SCREW EXTRUDER
[57] Abstract: Starting-valve throttle device for delivering a melt from a screw extruderAbstractA starting-valve throttle device (4) has a housing (24) having a housing recess (25) which is configured therein and in which a switching member (26) is repositionable between an evacuation position and a delivery position. The switching member (26) in the evacuation position configures an evacuation duct (34) which connects an entry duct (33) to an evacuation opening (35). The switching member (26) in the delivery position configures a passage duct (36) which connects the entry duct (33) to a delivery duct (37). A throttle member (38) is disposed in the passage duct (36) so as to be repositionable relative to the switching member (26). On account thereof, a melt (23) flowing through the passage duct (36) is capable of being throttled in a desired manner. The starting-valve throttle device (4) is constructed so as to be simple, compact and reliable. The operation of the starting-valve throttle device (4) and an associated screw extruder (3) is simple and energy-efficient.- Fig. 1 -
