[57] Abstract: The invention is directed to an ethylene copolymer having: -a high-load melt index (HLMI) is ? 3 g/10 min and is ?10 g/10 min (according to ISO 1133) -Mw / Mn ? 14 and ? 25 (according to size exclusion chromatography (SEC) measurement) -a density ? 945 kg/m3 and ? 955 kg/m3 ( according to ISO 1183) and -an Izod impact strength (-30°C) ? 10 KJ/m2 and ? 50 KJ/m2 (according to ISO 180/A). The strain hardening modulus of HDPE ? 20 and ? 40 (according to the method as described in Elsevier, Polymer 46(2005) 6369-6379). The polyethylene is applied in the production of industrial bulk containers and fuel tanks.
